Ken Coleman, Killian Construction met with the Cherokee County Commissioner about a proposed casino to be on 123 acres located along Highway 400 north of the site of the proposed Castle Rock Casino.
Mr. Coleman said that the first phase of the proposed casino from SE Kansas Casino Partners, LLC Resort and Casino will include a total investment of $140,200,000 including a 57,500 sq.ft. main casino, 1,500 slot machines, 28 table games, eight poker tables, 9,300 sq.ft. 400 seat showroom, 187,000 sq.ft. 150 room East hotel, 40 acre, 150 space, 12 caboose car RV resort, 84,000 sq.ft. arena and Equestrian center with 4,200 retractable seats, and 6,000 seats for concerts, 18,000 sq.ft. A Class convention space, 4,000 sq.ft. 200 seat stakehouse, 6,000 sq.ft. 300 seat Boathouse restaurant, 80 seat Boathouse lounge, 60 seat Third Shift cafe, 60 seat Center sports bar, 450’ Marquee’ Balloon Attraction on the lake, a general store, and a Veteran’s Plaza and lake fountains. Phase two a $19,500,000 investment of a 187,000 sq.ft. west hotel tower. Phase three a $27,800,000 investment will include 72,000 sq.ft. 48 themed boutique retail shops around the lake, 124 boutique hotel rooms on the lake for a total investment of $187,700,000.
This will add 940 permant employment positions with 410 temporary construction positions.
Some of the investors in the proposed casino include Killian Construction Company, Tony Orlando, Plaster family, and Glen Bilbo.
